About me...

My name is Juan Carlos del Rio, I was born in Mexico City where I lived for 15 years. At age 15 I left for boarding school in Switzerland and attended Institute Le Rosey. It was there that I completed my high school education and received my bilingual International Baccalaureate diploma with honors. After high school I was accepted into Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, a small, young engineering college which seeks to revolutionize engineering education across the globe through a highly rigorous project based curriculum. I now attend this college majoring in Mechanical Engineering and am looking to graduate in 2018.

At age 12 I became enamored with motorsport, particularly Formula 1; this passion lead me to become interested in mechanical engineering.  During my time at Olin, I have become heavily involved in several project teams which have helped me develop as an engineer and a leader. A team particularly close to my heart is the Olin Baja racing team. I served as Suspesnsion System Lead from May 2015 -to May 2017 and have now taken up the role of captain and Design Lead.
